2013 Samsung Cadet Success Story - Tumelo Mhlongo
I hereby like to thank Samsung for giving me an opportunity to be of part of their academy students selected to attend training for a full year as a service technical trainee.
It is one of my greatest experiences by far as it was my life's changing opportunity. In 2013 I applied through National Economic Education Trust and I was selected to be in a group of 40 candidates that would be attending at Samsung Academy.
It was very humbling to be part of selected unemployed youth as I knew I am one step closer to work for a big corporation like Samsung and the only requirement was that I give it my all to match Samsung standards. At the end of the year 2013 I was one of the few that managed to pass my training and graduated in February 2014. Soon after we graduated we received calls to come for interviews with one of Samsung service partner's which went very well.
From the 1st of April 2014 I have been working as a Samsung smart phones and tablets PCs technician and my life has changed for the better. I have grown in confidence since then and I can repair all kinds of problems when it comes to HHP.
Samsung has also given me a light in academic direction as I have also took initiative and registered to study part time for National Diploma in Electronics and Electronic communications.
I am very grateful for the opportunity presented to me by Samsung and I hope it will continue to reach out to the unemployed youth of South Africa and Africa as whole.
I had a miserable life before Samsung with no one to help me financially. I now feel like a human being as I can now help support my family.
Thank you Samsung
